A Medicare Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) is a yearly document sent by Medicare Advantage or Part D drug plans detailing changes to costs, coverage, and service areas effective in January. Plans must deliver it by September 30, ahead of the Annual Enrollment Period from October 15 to December 7.
While it will be mailed to you, it may also be found in your plan's Member Portal.
Key Details in the ANOC:
- Cost Updates: Monthly premiums, deductibles, copays, and maximum out-of-pocket limits.
- Coverage Changes: Alterations to medical benefits and prescription drug formularies (covered drugs).
- Network Shifts: Updates to participating doctors, hospitals, and local pharmacies.
What You Should Do
- Review the Mail: Read the document carefully when it arrives in September to see if your current plan still fits your medical and financial needs.
- Contact the Plan: Reach out to your plan provider directly if you do not receive your notice by September 30.
- Next Step: If you're fine with the changes outlined, no action is needed, your plan will renew automatically for 2027. As a Licensed Agent, I would be happy to help you explore other plan options, contact me to schedule a review during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) from October 15 – December 7.
